Start by opening File Explorer and group by type. Get rid of all file shortcuts first. Place all Word Documents and other documents into the Documents folder, media in the associated media folder. Pin to taskbar only those programs that you find yourself using every time or every other time you use the computer. Pin to Dtart those items like Control Panel, the Okla Speedtest app from the store, any secondary browsers and office programs that are not punned to Taskbar. Group the Start shortcuts in a way that it is easy for you. Now here is a nice trick/tip to remember. If you click on the very first sofrted by character in All Programs, you can choose the starting letter of the program that you are searching for for those you rarely use and do not need pinned to either taskbar or start.

Hi, what you could do is create some folders wherever you want them and create shortcuts to those folders on your desktop.

Then, when you have a file you wish to save, simply drag that to one of those shortcuts, and it wil be saved in the folder.

That way you have fewer individual things on your desktop, just categories.

If you want to make your shortcuts look tidy on your desktop, use a program called 'Fences'.

Further, you only have shortcuts on your desktop, not large files.
    What he said. +1.

It's a third party Start Menu replacement.

Callender, you need to make some more that help with the most requested topics on here. The name you use on YT did not match your user name, which is why there was the confusion.

Thanks. Is this a third party app you can share? Or am I not invited to the party?

Looks like Start10 from Stardock to me, the same as I use. It cost $4.99. I've been using it since the first Win 10 Alpha release. There are free Start Menu replacements like Open Shell too.
