I have photos that were in my Pictures folder that I can see and open in the "search" but if I try to save them after opening them in the photos app it tells me they don't exist, even though I can see the content, zoom, etc... very bizarre (I guess some sort of cache ... )
This is on an SSD, is there anyway to recover what the update removed for some reason since it's still in this sort of cache?
Right-clcik one of the photos from your Search Results & select Open file location to verify the location --- your photos may have been moved to OneDrive.

Can you browse to the photos and see the files in file explorer?If Photos has opened the file, it makes no sense that you can't save it, especially with that message.Again, please post a screenshot.
