    How to reveal hidden folders


    Hi.
    I have partitioned my HD, and G: is Music & misc. I had many folders for all of my CD's and converted Vinyl and backed them up using GRBakpro to a 32G flash drive. I have had issues with G, so I did a full format and then restored my music folders using GRBakPro. Not all of them restored, but this is not my issue.
    I then tried to copy folders from my flash drive that didn't seem to restore, but got the message, the folder already exists. But it does not show in Windows explorer. So GRBakPro screwed up and created folders that are now hidden. I don't care about this, perhaps I will take it up with them sometime, but........
    My current issue is, how do I get windows to reveal these hidden folders?

    In File Explorer click the View tab and check the Options choices at far right.

    There is third party software that can make search substantially easier.

    For example you can view every file on internal and external drives after boot or whenever you need them.

    There is no wait like using file explorer.

    It is instantaneous.

    As soon as you type a character it can display results and the more the characters that are entered the narrower the search results.

    It is the indexing of all files which allows the instantaneous results.
    And this includes hidden files.

    They are not hidden, just have a bit flipped that needs to be put back to allow the OS to see that file/folder info. MiniTool Power Data Recovery may work. Recuva is another.

    Thanks, but no joy


    I tried "Everything, and "Recoverit", but neither found the folders.
    I then used CMD, and navigated to G\ABBA, where I had previously tried to open a folder "Visitors". It had told me the folder already existed. No folder showed on Windows explorer. When I typed "DIR" two entries showed corresponding to the two folders from the source folder when I did a restore. No names showed for these folders, unlike when I did DIR in G:.
    is this why they are 'hidden', and how can I name them so I can see them?

    Post output of the dir command please.

    Also attrib G:\*.* command.

    You can view hidden folders by executing Dir /ah G:\ command.

    Execute attrib -h G:\ABBA command to clear hidden attribute of ABBA folder.

    Hi again.
    OK, this issue has just arisen with another app.
    Looks like a problem with Win 10 installation
    I will re-install from scratch and then get back if I still have an issue,
