It's always possible to launch programs at startup one way or another.

Put a shortcut to it in the Startup folder (which you'll need to research 'cos you can't see it from the Win 10 start menu- you can with Open Shell e.g.

You can even launch progs on logging in using the task scheduler.

Thank you for your reply. Good luck with that.. I have mentioned some ways of starting programs. As to whether they work I can't say- you can see my build in my specs.

I'm still using DesktopOK 5.79 and it works great. No reason to change to a newer version.

I just downloaded and started (did not install, just started the DesktopOK_x64.exe then in it's options, set the following:

Starts at boot as always and works as always, no problems.

I don't autostart DesktopOK - I just run it once to store the icon positions then run it again only when the icons are screwed up to recover the icon positions.

Could it be something to do with account syncing? Or maybe icon size, try making icons bigger (hold CTRL and roll mouse wheel backwards) and see if that helps.

Nope. its rare bug in Windows. Your desktop icon arrangement cannot be save after shutting down computer.

But i have noticed that this bug is caused if you change your gpu driver and entering safemode. I always use DDU in safemode removing remnants of my gpu driver.

Well I have never encountered this issue and have been using Win10 since it was offered as free upgrade. Even going into safe mode then back to normal, icons are placed where I left them. I don't use any 3rd party apps to manage any Windows settings. So I'm thinking it's not so much a bug in Windows but a setting that is constantly changing, for example the refresh rate of the display changing between Windows loading and the desktop being displayed. Do you have a G-Sync or Free-Sync monitor?
