Help choosing a Win 10 laptop

Hi all I'd really like to find out what people's opinions are on some of the new 11 or so inch tablets with Windows 10. I gave my Chromebook 3 away to my brother who is very happy with it since he's not so hooked on windows at this point. But now I'm in search of a replacement for a small laptop notebook I'm not sure of the difference between an a laptop and a notebook but I don't want the kind that has the top that comes off or the screen I mean that comes off (sorry about punctuation using voice to text).

So far I kind of like the Lenovo 11 inch but I noticed it just has a dual-core and I've been warned about that before that I should have a quad-core and a 64-bit rather than a 32-bit I don't know if that was good information but that's how I bought my PC with those specs.

Anyone have any ideas for me or input I sure appreciate it thanks much?? Forgot to mention I'm not wanting to pay more than 200 but to get something that will last I may have to pay more I understand that. I do hope it's okay to post this type of topicbut I won't settle for any other operating system than Windows so thought it may be okay if not someone can let me know

Nowadays, laptop computers are more frequently called notebook computers. Single processor can run instructions on separate cores at the same time, increasing overall speed for programs that support multithreading.

Thank you so much for the information I'll go take a look and I'm thinking I could go with a larger one as long as it's really lightweight because I had a Toshiba that was bought in 2012 and nothing was heavy for me and I just want to have a really light weight so I really appreciate learning about getting something with the at least does 64GB and I think you're telling me that if I want the quad-core in the 64-bit I'm going to be paying more so again I'll I'll take another look and see what I come up with I might just post what I find here and see what the feedback is on the different things I think I might want to go for thank you again

I just now saw your post and so appreciate it I wanted to ask if you could explain the single core running on more are you saying it's something like a quad core all in one for lack of a better way for me to explain what I'm hearing?

Single core can run one thread(command) at a time.

I'm sorry, I don't know what that means, but I just want to get the best processor I can afford. I think I want the quad for sure I think it just dawned on me

So a quad core can run 4 lines at a time? So quad is faster than a dual??

More CPU cores there is CPU can execute more command at same time.

You will appreciate quads if in your budget----

However---if you had to choose between a dual core 3.5 ghz and a quad core 2.2 ghz, you might prefer the former, depending on your specific tasks.

The main problem on laptops is the heat exchange and battery consumption. They aren't build for performance but for portability and long battery duration.
That's why laptops normally has 2 cores and run on a lower frequency.

So the main question is: What is the main purpose and what software you're going to run on it?

If you will use it for browse the internet and / or office (Word Excel etc) a i5 and 4 G of memory is all you need.

But the most important is that it must have a SSD, not HDD.
