With only 4 GB of memory Windows 10 will be swapping so much, the machine will be useless !
I would like the OP to run a little test (this is worthwhile for any not experienced Windows user).

    • Click the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the bottom left
    • Search for CMD
    • When it come up in result window RIGHT CLICK and click Run as Administrator
    • In the Command window enter PERFMON /RES. This starts up the Resource Monitor
    • Expand the Resource Monitor window until it is almost as wide as the screen
    • Click the Disk tab. On the right near the top, there will be a icon labeled Views. Click it and select Large.
    • If possible, take a picture of this
    • If the Disk Queue length is consistently larger than 1.0 you have a problem !

If the Disk Queue Length is consistently > 1.0, your computer is swapping. In simple English, it is struggling to stay alive. Like trying to swim with 50 lbs tied around your waist. Will it work, yes. YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY !

(Why would a manufacturer build a computer like this ? Because it is cheap and there are people in the world that price is the most important thing. SORRY ! The same thing happened to my mother-in-law a few years back. She got so discouraged, she gave up on computers completely. I have the machine now. It runs Linux much better)

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I don't find your "scare tactics" helpful. I may have bought a piece of junk in your opinion, and even a lot of people's opinion, but I'll deal with it "if" or "when" it falls apart.

I never said it will "fall apart". You will just not have a pleasant "computing" experience !

It's perfectly safe to do this, it's just a monitoring tool that displays how the system is behaving.

Well, apparently my 'daily driver' with 4GB RAM (and a slow 'spinner' HDD at that) doesn't

Zero Free Memory means as soon as you try to start up a new application, something else will have to be swapped out.

If you could upgrade to 8GB you would see a significant improvement in performance.

I don't use them but what I've read says Edge Beta can use Chrome add-ons or will soon. I don't consider that a good thing as add-ons tend to slow the browser down and that's where many of the browser infections originate.

Zero free memory can be a bit misleading, There's 1.4GB of Standby which is cached data. That does not need to be swapped out before the memory can be used for something else. It can just be dropped when an application demands more memory.
