According to the manual there is a USB2 port on the left hand side, between the power adapter socket and the memory card slot. On the right there should be a USB3 port and a type-C port, which could be used with an adapter like this:

Sure looks like it should fit, but thank you for the adapter link. I thought of that, but hadn't looked. That's less expensive than a whole, new mouse I can't read the small print on my receiver and bought it a long time ago.

here's a shot of my receiver, and I'd just about sware it's the same size as the one on the left side.

    Well I thought I attached it Help choosing a Win 10 laptop-reciever-mouse.jpg

Not sure what you meant but I tried turning them both ways and they don't fit.
If your computer has a USB Type A port (standard for both USB 2.x and USB 3.x and what you find on all most all memory sticks, mice, etc) it WILL fit. Look closely at the item/cable you want to plug in. If there is any kind of a label that will be the top (the bottom can be identified by a cut in the metal part that is being inserted). You always insert with the top up. New machines will be stiff.

IT WILL FIT ! Don't waste your money on the adapter.

That device, as it is pictured, is "right side up". You just need to wiggle it around a bit to get it to slide in.

I'm just afraid to feel like I'm forcing it but the measurements do the measurements look right to you on my receiver evidently they do I'll try it againI thought it one time the different sizes of USB were marked by colors and my receiver has red and both of those USBS although I can tell they're a different size have just like a gray maybe a really light blue or gray color to them I meant that the USB any's on the computer both look different sizes but my receiver looks like it would fit perfectly into the one on the left hand side of the laptop

Check your User Guide, it should be F6 to disable/enable the touch pad.

Got it I read up on S- Mode since it said I couldn't go back to it once I switched. Decided to switch anyway

Everything is working so well, way better than the Chromebook worked. Maybe I'm just hooked on Windows 10

Have you switched yet? If not, make sure the Store has been updated before you try. It has been reported that the Store as it comes 'out of the box' may not have a working 'switch out of S-Mode' page until it has been updated.

Yes, it prompted me to update the Store first so glad it did that. I wouldn't have known as I did that just after I left the message you quoted. Nothing to switching it off, one click and it was done.

I was used to Chrome on the chromebook 3 but on this, I did go with the Chrome to start because I can't stand Edge. But think I'll get my Firefox on this one tomorrow. Too tired tonight to do more

Take a look at Edge Beta. Nice improvement over Edge.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll read up on it and look at least I've used FF for so many years that I'm kind of sold on how good it's been for me. I especially like all of it's customization options. But I'll check out Edge.
