    Using WinPESE x64 created several RTF document files - laptop froze


    Hi Guys

    I was using WinPESE x64 Recovery USB stick, I created several RTF document files and saved them in the downloads folder, the laptop froze. I had to restart the laptop and lost the RTF files that were saved in the downloads folder. Is there anyway to recover them? or am I wasting my time?

    If I can recover them, where do I start looking? and how do I start recovering them?

    Normally if files are lost one might use one of any number of recovery programs.

    However I guess the PC is unbootable

    If the recovery disk is similar to this one:
    Toolkit Item: Kyhi’s Rescue Disk – Win10.Guru
    - you could try one of the data recovery programs on that disk.

    Many thanks, I don't know where the 'deleted files' are located; I've tried various scans, but haven't found them. Here are the drives on the laptop. The laptop is fine and does boot.

    As it's bootable, if the files exist, and you recall the name of at least one, try installing a fast search program such as Everything (void tools) or Ultrasearch.

    These index all the drives- a few minutes- then it's find-as-you-type (name only not content).
