If anyone still cares that you can't see the flags on mobile with Tapatalk, WhyMe has the UK/City of London flags. (I have USA/State of Ohio.)

And it says retail version for me, too...and I'm pretty sure this was an OEM install...it came with Vista long before I got it, and was upgraded to 7 Pro by the guy I got it from.

I'm also guessing that may be so. The thing is Microsoft spokespersons keep repeating their 'lifetime of the device' statements in reference to the current free upgrades without making any reference to any future upgrade paths for existing retail license holders.

Their staff don't know and often tell different customers different things about what the future holds. At the moment, it is all guesswork and no-one knows how their future financial model pertains to the new Microsoft Windows Service nor how it will impact customers.

    5. Authorized Software and Activation.
You can also activate the software manually by Internet or telephone.
Currently, Microsoft is telling people how to transfer their retail license to another computer - install the original OS that had the retail license, activate it, then upgrade it to Windows 10.

On July 29, 2016, they may specify a different method to do that. If they don't, then I guess you move to sections 11 and 12 of the EULA, since you don't live in the United States.

The point is that you are complaining about something that Microsoft might not do almost 1 year from now. It just seems like it is a bit too early to be complaining about something that may - or may not - occur one year in the future.

There weren't any flags for that.

Still, I'm quite fascinated by your background and experiences!

This essentially mean that if you build a new PC, you're expected to buy Windows 10 again. If your motherboard breaks and you don't replace it with an identical one, then you are also expected to buy Windows 10 again.
I have found they are being generous with Updates, I used the Pro version ISO file to create an install DVD and I updated a friends system, cos they did not want to wait a month for the installer to be delivered into their system. I was expecting to have to buy the Pro License, but instead, so my surprise, the system came up fully and permanently activated.

On the other hand, I did a fresh install on an empty HDD on my Windows 7 system, and I had to buy the Pro License. My Windows 7 is still eligible for the update, though, and that's an Ultimate Edition. I may still update that.

Microsoft isn't the evil company that some people think. But I still believe Windows 10 is Skynet
