    That's great news.
Glad to read that Dell scheduled a free replacement by a technician.
    You are welcome.

Technician came Wed and spent 4 hrs trying to sort it out, a new Mother board and SSD, did the trick but have lost all audio? a virtual technician went inside the PC but could not fix so they reinstalled W10 but still no audio, a driver is missing?? I have been contacted by the Lady tech from DELL and am awaiting a further phone call, I did say I expected a repair, replacement or a refund I have heard nothing since. Thank goodness for my trusty old desktop with Vista.
PS Everyone seems to be trying and a new PC would seem the easiest way out for all.

Thanks zbook I have not been using my laptop at all since the technician installed W10 but I will load a couple of programs and have a go tomorrow and if successful post results on this thread, I hope I don’t mess it up as I am not a techie.

I did not have a chance to use the system tool as DELL support emailed me to say permission had been given to replace my PC.
So at last all systems are go DELL has supplied a new computer the one I had was 4 months old and is now obsolete so I have a later model. I am very grateful to DELL, zbook and others that gave advice and hope it does not go down the same path.
