"Lock" option missing on one computer

I've recently had to use Remote Desktop to access two of my computers. I typically end the sessions with Sleep (if I've got nothing running) or Lock (if I've got something running under my id). Suddenly Lock is no longer available on one of the computers. I've checked to make sure the Disable Lock group policy somehow got set. It was not set.

Any idea what might have happened and how I can fix it??

Is there any problem just disconnecting the Remote Desktop connection instead of doing a Lock?

Hi, presumably you mean the Lock option is missing as a drop-down from your user id on the Start Menu (similar to screenshot in link below).

What happens if you use Win key + L ? - lock should still work.

Presumably this is the group policy to which you refer:
2 Options to Remove the Lock Option from Windows Start Menu | Password Recovery

Although a restart should not be necessary, you could try this: check the registry key, and set and unset the group policy or key and restart.

In addition, you might also check using the tutorial below to see if Lock may have been removed using one of the options in it, and add it back if so.

Thanks. That was it. Somehow the "Lock - Show in account picture menu" was unchecked. And I am the only person using that PC so I must have done it.

Great news. You may have unchecked it by mistake while unchecking or checking other items there.
