    Taskbar search window in 1903...

    I am not certain where to post this, but here it goes...

    Windows v.1809 the Search on the taskbar looked like this, after customizing and web search disabled:

    After updating to v.1903, it changed to this, after customizing and web search disabled:

    It's OK starting with "All" tab, but I don't need the display of the top apps. Those apps are already on the taskbar and they start with one-click, not two with the search window.

    Other than restoring Windows to v.1809, is there a way getting back 1809's search window?

    top apps has been discussed a few times. There is no absolute fix, but there is this
    How to get rid of 'Top apps' display, Win10 Ver 1903

    See post #4
    Changes that to this:

    Or you could use a full featured start menu (but no tiles) with a configurable search box: Open shell (free)

    Or you can use a 'proper' start menu with configurable search:
    Open shell (free)

    Reinstall cortana by opening an elevated PowerShell window, press Win + X keys to open PowerShell.

    Execute following commands one at time.

    Code:
    Get-Process  SearchUI | Stop-Process  –Force

    Get-AppXPackage -Name Microsoft.Windows.Cortana | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
