In Vantage, it's easy to tell if Eye Care is turned on or off. It shows up on the home page for Dashboard, to wit:
I've found the program lightweight enough not to be bothersome, and useful enough to keep around. But I only use it on my two new Lenovos. Not worth much for older models.
