What is the Default Owner of Data Partition?

Hi, I recently changed the Default Owner of my Data Partition (Data HP E:) into Administrators but I would like to know who the real Default Owner is. Is it System, or TrustedInstaller?

My C Drive is owned by TrustedInstaller and other Partitions have Administrators as owner.

I would like to revert it back but I don't know who the Default Owner of a Partition is!

Once we established that, is it possible for example to set System for the Drive/partition and choose Administrators for the files and folders within, (except System Volume Information)?

In my case, data partitions are owned by System, but not external drives.

If you move your drive from system to system, Everyone is a proper owner.

Thanks for your response AndreTen, good to know System is the default owner!

I recently changed that to Administrators & I would like to set System again as owner of the Drive/Partition. Because I have VSS errors, most likely due to the fact the Volume System Information folder changed with swap of owners.

So I would like to make System owner of the Drive/Partition but I'm wondering if its OK to the set the Files & Folders on that Drive to Administrators? I reckon if System is the owner of the entire Drive/partition it will be impossible to delete, rename Files & Folders, hence my above question...

I did check my folders, and folders are mostly owned by me (as an admin user), but with my system ID.

I guess, the best would be to go to folders properties and take ownership of folders (inherit from top...) and then change ownership of drive to system

Here is example of my Data drive:

If you want to change it it is "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" without quotes.
