    Turn off Focus Assist

I'm confused but that is normal.....lol I am easily confused. I just go the update notice for the May 2019 update in August?? Does the tutorial that Brink made create a bootable USB drive with the latest version of windows 10 1903??

To make things more confusing when I did the update it changed a bunch of my settings. I'm slowly getting them back to what they were but one change ( new feature or something I never had active before) is driving me nuts. how do get my notifications back to normal.

Now I get this every few minutesTurn off Focus Assist-focus.jpg

    Hello @Eaglepi,

If you use the Media Creation Tool or download the latest ISO from Microsoft to use to create the bootable USB with, then it will create one for Windows 10 version 1903.

The screenshot you posted is a notification from the Focus Assist automatic rule When I'm using an app in full screen being turned on. Turning this setting off below should stop it.

Thanks for the info about the bootable USB drive.

For some reason no matter how many times I turn off the focus assist it will not turn off. It goes away as if I turned it off but minutes later I get the same notification about it. I has messed up other notifications like my reminder alarms, This update changed a lot of things in Win 10 not sure why???

    Thanks again

In addition to turning off Focus Assist, you also have to turn off all of its automatic rules or they will automatically turn on Focus Assist as per rule conditions.

    Thanks for the reply Brink.

I did turn off all the auto rules but I am still having an issue that is to me a major thing. First of all even though I have always kept my version of win 10 current I NEVER noticed focus assist until this last update that they called the "may update" which I got toward the end of Aug???? ( MY update settings have never changed ) so it wasnt that I didn't get get the focus assist, I just never seen it in setting nor did it affect my system until just last week when I downloaded the "May Update" which in fact I didn't manually download it update did it when I was gone.

So far the only thing that I have noticed that affects me big time is I have several alarms set that remind me of things I have to do on a daily or weekly basis and when my reminder alarms went off in the past they kept playing the sound for hours if I missed one and didn't dismiss it. Now it seems that if I miss one it doesn't play the sound until I finally see it they go into the notification section.

For an example, I had a alarm set today at 11:00 AM for a medication I take and I wasn't home at 11:00 Am but when I got home normally they alarm would have still be going off and playing a sound even 4-6 hours later. Today no alarm to dismiss, no sound but I just opened the notification center and the alarm was there.

I need to set something so my alarms still play the sound and give me the pop up so I don't miss them rather than going into the notification center. If you could help me get those back tot he way they worked prior my system updated tot he"May update" I would really appreciate it very much.

    Thanks

Let's see a screenshot of your Notifications and Focus Assist settings to see if anything may stand out.

For now, you can set to have your notifications stay open longer to help some.
