Open Shell issues on Win 10
Running Win10 v1903 and Open-Shell is running
I cannot drag and drop notepad.exe from a folder onto the desktop
Is this normal ? Seems the desktop is frozen !
Anyone else having this experience?

I don't believe you could ever move the actual notepad.exe to the desktop but you can create a shortcut to it on the desktop, which, I "think" is what you really want.
Open the containing folder, usually the Windows System32 folder. Find notepad.exe and right click on it. In the menu that opens go down and choose Send To... and then choose Desktop.
That will create a shortcut to notepad on the desktop and you will be able to easily use it. Just click or double click (depending on your set up) on it and it will open
I'm running 4.4.138
Tried notnats clear instructions but icon goes onto a stack in a 1in x 4in screen area
Can you recommend a safe reliable site for Open Shell 4.4.139 download ? .
Honestly, to me anyway, it sounds like there is some sort of other problem here, you are just seeing it when trying to do this with notepad. Not really sure to begin with why you are actually trying to move a program instead of just shortcut it. But since you are having problems trying to do that I think something else must be at work.
Why have you decided that the problem is Open Shell? Can you give us a print screen of this "stack in a 1in x 4in screen area" ? I am not really clear on what this would be either. What configuration have you chosen for your desktop? Right click anywhere on the desktop and choose View.
Mine for instance is as shown in my print screen;
Also; this is the Windows 10 forum but your specs for you computer say, Windows 7. Which are you running?
