    Quick Access links change

I liked the Windows 7 "Links" section of the file browser. If you can tell me how to mimic the Links behavior, stop reading and provide that and that would be WONDERFUL -- Much thanks in advance.

    Otherwise...

I am testing multiple versions of a piece of software. The directory I want to pin, is, for example: C:\Program Files\Mozilla\Firefox. During my process, I rename Mozilla to Mozilla_Andy, Mozilla_05-15, and such like. Good ole Links didn't care. With Windows 10, however, though I have installed a new directory in its old place, the Quick Access updates the path to "help me". I'm a big boy now. I don't require that kind of help. Anyone have an idea how to control this behavior? I want the "Leave my links alone" check-box.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Hi, you could try this (not checked for your scenario though)
Add or Remove Favorites from Navigation Pane in Windows 10

Otherwise Windows' vagaries and spec changes can be frustrating. That's why I gave up on MS's email clients post Win 7.

So why not go 3rd party (free)? Listary (free/pro) is a remarkable tool.
Middle click in any explorer-based Window (desktop, open/save etc) gives you access to

    Faourites
    Recent
    etc

Favourites - jump to any path you have preset.
Define a Favourite by middle click (to launch Listary dialogue) then 1 click to Add it to the list.

Plus the Favourite folder expands to show its content so you can jump there with one click.

Example: Here I've added just two favourites - Downloads and System32 (I've just installed Listary on this PC for you).

Listary has a number of other unexpected functions too- and that's just the free version. Proper grown-up utility for big boys. (Hmm, good advertising slogan..)
