The upgrade repair install sounds much scarier than it really is. I've used it dozens of times to recover from Windows weirdnesses, oddities, and bad behavior. Work your way through @Brink's excellent tutorial and you can't go wrong: Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade.

It's actually near enough the same as upgrading manually to the next build- but a lot less problematic.

And if you create a disk image of Windows as you should do before any major change, you have that as security.

    How do you start?
    Right click, Mount the iso
Open the new drive letter created.
    Run setup.exe

    Hi it's the numpty again.
I'm afraid I've not yet mustered the gumption to do this, even quotes like "mounting the ISO" defeats me.
As I'd already ordered a !tb SSD and I've just received and installed it, I've done a clone of my primary (C drive) onto the new 1tb drive.
However! and I suspect you'll expect what happened next, although cloning was successful, when you view properties it has set space the same as the 250gb one it was cloned from so no better off.
I'm assuming the solution will go straight over my head as well.

Can you post a picture of the current Disk Management for the new SSD, after the clone?

p.s. - you need to fix your time zone in your profile. Settings>General, and scroll down.....

Can you see the iso file? Here it's on my desktop. It could equally be listed in file explorer.

Rt clicking it shows the context menu.

The green arrow shows you the Mount option.

Click that, and the content of the iso file is available as the next available drive letter in alphabetic order.

As you see in both 'this pc' and 'disk management' it quotes the 'F' drive (new 1tb) as being the same as 'C'.
As for finding ISO I'm lost

That's ok. The C: is suppose to match the C:. The rest is unallocated, 700GB of available space not tied to anything.

Thank you, I assume if I set 1TB as primary (boot drive) it'll show full space once old one removed?.

Want to add a note to dalchina's Mount explanation. If you have 7-Zip software or any other software installed that would change the defaults for the .iso extension, the Mount command will not (99.999999%) appear. Use Open with File Explorer to accomplish the same thing.

iso file: use the Microsoft media creation tool to get one.
(simply Google Microsoft media creation tool )
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...load/windows10
    - big blue download button

There's a tutorial on how to download a Win 10 iso.
    Download Windows 10 ISO File

and a tutorial was quoted above with all this:

    - but my instructions are much shorter. (and usually I include the note f14tomcat added in case Mount is not shown)
