Disk space usage, is this really necessary?

So being a persistent fiddler I was poking around with Treesize (a very useful little utility) and came across the following.
I have 1 HDD, the Windows partition is 439Gb in size with 27.8Gb in use.
When I set this up it was a clean install of 1903 (the .295 version), I installed Nvidia's 436.02 driver and GeForce Experience app. The driver is still the same but Experience has done 1 update.
According to Treesize Nvidia occupies 27% of Program Files, 52% of Program Filesx86, 40% of Program Data and a whopping 86% of System32\Driverstore\File Repository.
All together this accounts for 3.6GB of files.
Going into more depth it appears that Nvidia save any driver/ app updates in its own download folder and also saves a copy in File repository.
I know Windows does a similar thing with updates and also store apps etc but I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to slim this Nvidia bloat down without loosing the driver and app.
I know DDU will remove all traces of both over a couple of safe mode restarts but I would rather avoid having to go that route if possible.
It just seems that it is a lot of unnecessary disk space consumed by Nvidia.
The main reason I am asking is that at the moment I am using a 1Tb HDD, but very soon I am moving to a small NVME boot drive + 500Gb SSD and although its "only" 3.6Gb that can be a large % of a small NVME.

My Program Files (86) - 207Mb or so

    ProgramData- Nvidia is just 185kb

Whether that's as it should be I can't really say- never looked before...

If you run DriverStore Explorer (aka RAPR.exe) it will happily clean out old, obsolete Nvidia drivers from the DriverStore. These days, each iteration of Nvidia drivers consumes around 800 MB of disk space. So if you update drivers regularly and don't clean them up likewise, it's easy to lose 4-6 GB of disk space to older versions. Grab the latest RAPR version from Releases . lostindark/DriverStoreExplorer . GitHub (v0.10.54 is the current version as I write this post).
For more info, see my Win10.Guru Toolkit Item post on DriverStore Explorer.

Ok, well Driverstore explorer gave me the option of removing 1 older version of Nvidia drivers.
But this removed only about 500Mb so I think I will need to use DDU and clean install latest Nvidia driver which is a pita if I need to do it every time a new driver or Experience update is released.
This is my situation after Driverstore ran.

As you can see there is still well over a gigabyte left in various folders. Unfortunately some of the Nvidia folders are a rats nest to dig into and work out what is essential and what is bloat, as in updates that have been applied but for some reason are kept in reserve.
But thanks for the suggestion of Driverstore.

RAPR doesn't clean up all Nvidia traces, but it helps. DDU is a good tool, too. Keep at it: you'll get it taken care of.

You could choose to uninstall GEforce experience.
How to Uninstall GeForce Experience - Appuals.com

Just tried DriverStore Explorer on my 2 laptops. Even on my older installation (since build 1511) it only found about 140Mb to remove.

You can manually delete NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2 folder. The only caveat is that you may have trouble using uninstaller from Add & Remove programs.

Ty, I have uninstalled GeForce Experience which actually removed an awful lot of software I didn't realise was tied to that app rather than the drivers. Uninstalled Phys-X because nothing I use takes advantage of it...was a bit surprised to learn there are only about 40 games that use Phys-X and most are from about 2011!
All in all I reduced my entire Nvidia install across all folders (and there were a lot of hidden, nested folders) to a little over 200Mb.
All my apps, games etc run without issue, Blender renders on the GPU perfectly.
I think the main issue with Nvidia (not sure if AMD do the same) is that they are probably adhering to MS software design which includes keeping a copy of installed items in case of reset/ re install.
Unfortunately this involves the original files, a backup of the update/ install and Nvidia keep a copy of the update/ install in their own folder structure as well.
On massive spinners disks its not so noticeable but with smaller SSD's, especially NVME's used for booting it becomes very noticeable.
But issue resolved for me now, so I'm happy.
