After 1903 update, animations turned on

After the update, animations (like menus that slowly fade in and out) were all turned on. They had not been on before the update. I also noticed that my keyboard "repeat delay" and "repeat rate" were both set much slower than before, and moving the sliders all the way to Fast had no effect on the actual rates. I'm wondering if this is a bug or a feature of Windows 1903. What other surprises can I anticipate?

I've never had any animations happen on my computers. Nor have my repeat rates been "tampered" with.

It is possible thing to happen but usually its a third party program that is incompatible
with 1903 that was used to modify or tweak an earlier version.

Then I wonder how else they might have been turned on. When I first noticed the problem and checked them, they were set to Windows defaults (all boxes checked). The animations are gone (after I reset them) but when I hold down a key in order for the key to repeat, it repeats very slowly. I do a lot of writing, and make heavy use of the backspace key, so this is really slowing me down. Several other disturbing things have happened today, including Office 365 asking me to log back in (the first time that ever happened).

    things to check

If you use wireless keyboard and mice , check batteries, blow out dust

Logitech keyboards and mice: upgrade to the newest setpoint software.
If you have an old version, 1903 may have tried to upgrade it. which could have skewed
    your settings.

The problem with slow keys went away when I rebooted. I'm still wondering what could have caused it.

The only programs I have run since the update are: Macrium Reflect (just browsing a system file), Microsoft Office 365, Chrome browser, Photoshop CC and Lightroom Classic CC. Except for Macrium Reflect, they're the programs I run all day everyday. I also got logged out of Microsoft. OneNote asked me to login. It's the first time that's ever happened.

With any major upgrade (1903 certainly qualifies) some programs are completely upgraded,
and can lose some preferences , options and settings. That is normal.
I suggest 1903 changes threads here's a starting point found by typing 1903 changes
in the search box at the top of the forum.
