Update to Windows 10 ver. 1903 Deleted Valuable Folder

After installing this update everytime I tried to log into my user profile I was getting an error, after restarting this was fixed. However, many of my personal user settings had changed (default browser, background picture, windows bar colour ect).

All my applications were still on my desktop but none of my folders were showing. I found all the folders in the desktop folder, they just weren't displaying on the desktop for whatever reason. I dragged one folder from the desktop folder onto the physical desktop so I could use it. It all went well.

Upon returning to my PC today and turning it all, all my user settings have gone back to what they used to be and all my folders are now on my physical desktop. Except the one folder I moved is completely gone from my computer. I see all the files in my frequently accessed folder and file area on my windows file explorer but I can't access any because they're apparently all non-existent. My backups don't go back far enough for what I need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I think I was in a temporary user, moved my file to there and when I logged off it wiped it. Any ideas how to correct this?

Have you attempted to login as Administrator and search for the folder/files?

So this was a domain thingy?

Cause i know of Windows 10 (maybe it was 1903, bu i think it was 1809 or something) that could wipe your personal documents.
(btw if anyone knows more on that i would be interested in it).

IT happened to one at work were everything was lost, but applications were kinda there, but could point towards nothing.
It was really odd. He wasn't backuped by the domain though when i think about it so it probably didn't matter.

I do however know when you logon and can appear in a temporary account, i sadly don't know how those work.
I have been in them but i don't recall doing anything really, so i wouldn't have noticed if anything got undone,
but i guess it could happen, but probably only if you are synced to a domain, cause then it would sync it probably,
making you lose anything you did without the system ever telling the domain about it. (just a guess though).
