    reversing from 1903 to 1809

I have a laptop and PC. Both updated to 1903 on their own. I was able to reverse the PC but not the laptop. I used this tutorial:
Go Back to the Previous Version of Windows in Windows 10

On the laptop I did not have an option to reverse using method 2.

In method one under see more recovery options, I do not see go back to previous build. I see only system Image Recovery. If this will not work, can i just download and install 1809?

    Hi,
    Sort of a pitiful state
One must update to 1903 to have more control over updates lol

Performance is slower, sound no longer works, etc...
All was fine until the update. I can prevent updates until I want them. I normally wait a while until I feel comfortable with the new version.

    Hi,
Get comfy with 1903 or clean install 1809 if you don't have a system image of the prior install

I recently downloaded 1809 and successfully completed a clean install. It was a slight PITA to download but not difficult. I used ms Edge (yuk) while emulating an ipad. This allowed the option of 1809 or 1903 from ms downloads.

W10 Tweaker is correct, you can still download the 1809 ISO direct from Microsoft. The method used is described in Option Three here:

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

@copiman If the laptop upgraded less than 10 days ago, Windows.old should be present. Do you see Windows.old on C: ?

If so, have you tried method 1 in the tutorial?

Otherwise, if the laptop is indeed incompatible with 1903, and you wished to stay with build 1809, you would be facing a clean install. You would then have to block updates to prevent upgrades being offered.

If you have a recent disk image of build 1809 (we constantly recommend people use disk imaging routinely- e.g. Macrium Reflect -free/licensed e.g.) then you can restore that disk/Windows image and have your PC back as it was when running build 1809.

On the other hand, since MS delivered 1903 to your laptop via Windows update, that shows MS has no block- suggesting your laptop is expected to be compatible with 1903.

    What is your laptop model?
Have you searched to see if there are others who have upgraded it to build 1903 successfully?
And have you updated its BIOS?

Performance is slower, sound no longer works, etc...
Performance is slower.. how much free space is there on C: after the upgrade?
