If I uninstall OneDrive, are the files it contains removed from my PC? I've read that OneDrive offers only 5GB of free storage space, after which users have to pay; it hardly seems worth using seeing as I already use Google Drive, and it offers 15GB of free storage space.

You can check the OneDrive folder located at your user profile folder C:\Users\AccountName.
Google offers 15 gig but unlimited storage for photos. You may get 15 gig on one drive if you opted in

I have onedrive and some content on it haven't used or accessed it in years and don't care what happens to it frankly and pretty much what online storage should be = nothing you really care what happens to it
Onedrive ms has gone from very generous to pretty skimpy on free storage don't get too used to any free amount
On that note I always uninstall onedrive app
You can access onedrive via browse anytime and upload/ download what ever is there.
OneDrive has come in very handy for doing Win 10 custom installation builds following Kari's tutorials. Until I started messing with that I had no use for it at all. Now I depend in it. YMMV. 5GB is not much but sufficient for what I'm using it for.
After an update today I was offered 30GB after setting up OneDrive on an IP/Insider Preview computer, not that I intend to use it.
OneDrive is very useful for sharing files across your PCs. You can easily control what gets copied to your PC.
I use one drive all the time as well as the google version i would not live without either of them so handy as well because also on my phone and if there is something i want and i am out i can normally find it within 30 seconds
