How do I open a Command Prompt as Administrator in one click?

    Hi.

I think that I was able to do this before and now I can't.

What I would like to do is twofold -

    1) Have a desktop shortcut for the Command Prompt on the desktop to open as Administrator.

    2) Be able to use Windows+X and have the capability to open a normal Command Prompt and also a pick to open as Administrator.
PowerShell has this capability, but not the Command Prompt.

I found this older article, but to no avail:

How to Open the Command Prompt as Administrator in Windows 8 or 10

    Thanks, folks.

    Hey Brian,

For a desktop shortcut: Create Elevated Command Prompt Shortcut in Windows 10

If you like, you can have both command prompt options show in the Win+X menu instead of PowerShell.

Show Command Prompt or Windows PowerShell on Win+X menu in Windows 10

    OR

Add Custom Shortcuts to Win+X Quick Link Menu in Windows 10

    Hi Shawn -

    Yep. That would do it.

How about PowerShell and Command Prompt, both non-Admin and Admin? (Four picks.)

    Thanks!

You could use the second tutorial below to choose between have the admin and non-admin command or powershell on the Win+X menu....

.... or add custom shortcuts for them to the Win+X menu with the last tutorial.

I use powershell as admin by right clicking start and choosing the option.
