    Windows 10S opinions.

Hi all. I am getting a new laptop that has windows 10S preinstalled. Is anyone running it here and can share some opinios about it? I am not all that sure I will like it as I want to run the new edge chromium browser and am not sure if I will be able to. Also what will be the situation with drivers from the manufacturer? I know windows can supply drivers and they will probably suffice . Am I going to want to dump Windows 10S ?Thanks for any comments.

For normal users 10S is pretty limiting. It is good for users who are click happy, only do light stuff etc.

I would keep it for about 15 minutes, the time it would take me to upgrade it.

I am pretty careful so I will probably not like this limiting operating system at all. Thanks for your reply.

To get our laser printer to work on my fiancé's Galaxy Book, I had to use PCL6 since there are no ARM drivers for that printer. Otherwise she is going to use Edge and can use Office 365. It is not meant to be a daily driver, just for when she travels for work.

You're basically allowing Microsoft to be the administrator of your computer and your allowed to be only I small step above a non- administrator user.

I would not like that at all. They seem to have enough control. Most assuredly will be removing.

MS and other OS designers are going to be in control of their product. MS is trying to do with 10S, what Apple does with iOS and iPadOS. Even with Jailbreak, you are limited.

I have decided that it is not for me. I can see where it may be a safer solution for some scenarios. You can pretty much lock down windows yourself in settings though with choosing where to install apps from, ( which I never use). I knew beforehand that I would not like 10S.
I sure do know some people that it would be good for though, mostly because they refuse to learn how to use a computer properly.
