Help Dell Inspiron Windows 10 Laptop Dead

I just tried to turn on my Dell Laptop which was put to sleep when I closed the lid yesterday. The laptop will no longer start and there is no screen activity.

The power light comes on and there is some disk activity when I press the on button to reboot but there is no screen activity and no beeps. I can't boot from my Reflect recovery drive and the Dell Diagnostics (Fn key + Power button) do nothing. I've removed the main battery, held the power on button for a minute and then reinserted the battery but that doesn't work.

I'm now stumped. Do I have defunct laptop or are there other things I can try?

Have you force power off your laptop to do that hold down power switch for ten seconds.

I've done that. As before, the disk light flashes for about 15 secs but there is no display and no beeps. I can't enter the BIOS, run Dell diagnostics or boot a recovery drive.

Can you disconnect the hard drive and try powering on the laptop.

Also take out the battery and try booting the laptop with only power adapter connected.

Unplug, pull battery and look for a CMOS reset on the bottom, otherwise press and hold the power button to clear that area of the bios to see if it reboots.

I've removed the main battery & held the main power button. Nothing is displayed. The fan does start up for a few seconds and there is disk activity when the SSD is connected.

There is no evidence of a CMOS reset but I can see the original coin cell CMOS battery which is really hard to replace. Is it worth disassembling the lower half of the laptop to replace that coin cell battery?

The coin cell battery removal for at least 10 minutes (no power applied) will perform a CMOS (BIOS) reset.

When you attempt to power it on, do you get any beeps? HERE is the link to the Dell troubleshooting and beep chart (it references a 5737 model but applicable to the 7537 too).

Which model Dell: Latitude or Inspiron?
