    Enabling Auto Play in WIN10

My CD/DVD on my new ACER laptop with WIN10 will not auto play. I've turned on auto play in both Device and Control Panel without result. Essential, because I paid $320 for a Rosetta Stone language course, and now can't use it. I'm 79 and prize my time because every day there's less of it. It's been three months, looking for a solution.
After research, I came across a HowToGeek article saying auto play may be disabled in gpedit.msc. How to Enable, Disable, and Customize AutoPlay in Windows 10
I thought if that were the case, I could re-enable it.
But, Win10's search box said gpedit.msc is not available. More searching and I found a way to add gpedit.msc, except the command prompt says I need an advanced command prompt.
The author of adding the gpedit.msc said davehc had found the way to add it, had written the code, and the user could have it by clicking on "download here" but I couldn't locate the link: Add GPEDIT.msc by Drudger on DeviantArt
    I'm not computer savvy.
So, I'm turning to you. Can you help?

Using CDs I believe the first step is to install Rosetta Stone (that's the old method).

It could be that expecting that to start relies on obsolete Autorun, not Autoplay. These are quite different things.

Please use file explorer to examine your first Rosetta Stone CD. My guess is that you will fairly readily see a file called setup.exe or install.exe

If so, try double clicking on that.

You could have a look at the disk with file explorer and post a screenshot here.

    Note this comment:
Version 4 doesn't seem to be supported in Windows 10.

Hopefully you have a later version.

    There is a support link:
    Rosetta Stone Support for Personal

    offering e.g. online chat.

dalchina is correct so I hope you are following that advice.

I noticed your references to gpedit. If you have Windows 10 Home then you do not have gpedit. The guidance you refer to about adding it has clearly been less than complete. Even if you find a method for adding gpedit to Windows 10 Home
    - it will only be a viewer,
    - it will not be capable of enabling / disabling / changing anything.
So bin the idea and save your time.
