    Greetings Tucker,

I attempted to use the Ctrl+F function.

I held down the Ctrl key and hit the F key after the MSI logo presented itself hopefully that was the correct way to do it.?

Nothing happens it continued through to the blue screen..

Please let me know if that was the correct way or if there is an alternative way?

Thought I would give you a summary...

This is what I have to work with in the advanced bios screen.... it seems pretty limited.. do you see anything that looks wrong or anything that could be useful

    Boot sequence press enter

    Bios flash protection - disabled
Full screen logo display - enabled
    Quick booting - enabled
Boot up num - lock LED - on
    IOAPIC function - enabled
    MPS table version - 1.4
    Primary Graphics adapter - PCI - e
    PCI latency timer - 64
    HPET- enabled
On - chip VGA - enabled
    VGA share memory - Auto
    Umma location hyphen- above
    Surround view - Auto
    TCG/TPM Suppirt - no

I'd like to ask you a question - Given that I have no accessible boot device of any kind to work with ...This might be a silly question but is there a way to update the BIOS using another computer... to be specific a computer to computer connection...via SATA cable....

I know I am running out of options Thank you for your continued support and patience...

    Regards,

    Ed Zac

According to the manual you press Ctrl+F when you see

Press <Ctrl-F> to enter RAID Option ROM utility..
    .

There is no computer to computer link like you are talking about.

The online manual for your board is terrible. It does not provide any detail at all. There should be a way to select each sata prort and USB and enable them but the manual doesn't even mention them.

    Greetings Tucker,

I entered Ctrl + f when I saw the MSI logo..

I attempted it three times it still went through or into blue screen... Auto Repair

Researching this ...It appears that raid has to be manually configured.... unless you're thinking it's standard protocol within an operating system...?

I don't think RAID was configured on my system.. my system was custom built and I never set it up... I will next time..

How To Set Up RAID In Windows 10

No, you need to setup raid, it doesn't just happen. I just wonder if somehow it got turned on.

you press Ctrl+F when you see this: Press <Ctrl-F> to enter RAID Option ROM utility... not at any other time.

If you have a reliable computer shop you could take it in there or take ot to the place that built it for you, maybe they have some ideas.

In the Bios, press F6 for Optimized Defaults, Save and Exit and reboot or Press F8 for Fail-Safe Defaults, Save and Exit and Reboot.
Then In the Bios, go to Integrated Peripherals, or in Advanced BIOS features, Look for Hard Drive Mode or some such. If it is RAID, change it to AHCI.
In Integrated Peripherals, you should see the various SATA ports and be able to Enable them

    Greetings Tucker and spunk,

At this point I am contemplating taking it into a computer repair place.. the computer was built by an IT guy that used to work at our company...long gone

Spunk, as you suggested I went into integrated peripherals..

Table of contents and their status

    USB controller - enabled
USB device Legacy support - enabled
    Onboard Lan controller - enable
    Lan option ROM - disabled
    HD audio controller - enabled
On-chip SATA devices - press enter
    I / o devices - press enter

Please know all of the above items where in Brackets.

I went into on chip ATA devices

Table of contents and their status

PCI IDE bus master - enabled
On - chip SATA controller - enabled
    RAID Mode - IDE

All of the above are also in Brackets

I noted noted that it was set to IDE and not raid

As per your instructions I changed IDE to a ahci.

When I boot up it confirms ahci Drive initiation then it goes into repair mode

it also gave me another message when it confirms the ahci drive: press Ctrl a to enter hyperdrive utility.... which I did... on a second pass ..however that only provided me with a status screen showing:
    ROM info
    Device info

Currently all of my SATA devices remain in brackets and cannot be enabled.

Through the CMOS utility I have confined it to 1 SATA device-the HDD in order ensure that I am affecting change on that one device...

Thank you both for your input.

    Regards,

    Ed Zac
