When file is "pasted" into a new folder, which date is recorded

I edit photos and save them to a folder; I save them sorted by "date modified" in descending order, so the newest ones are at the top. When I upload them to a photo site, I cut-and-paste them into a subfolder. Until recently, these were saved in the subfolder in descending order of date added to the subfolder.
Then I got an automatic Windows-10 update. The main folder stayed the same; but in the subfolder, the photos are now sorted by last time they were photo-edited.
I cannot find a date field to sort on to get them sorted by date added to the subfolder.
    Can anyone help?

Doesn't exist. Date created or modified is all there is. A Date Copied would be nice.

This horse has been beaten to a pulp.

File copy dates in Windows 7 Explorer: PC Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

There are programs out there that specialize in various media and will show the proper metadata from Exif to tags on .mp files.

Look up EXIFTool GUI. It puts a front end on that super powerful exiftool, particularly for changing dates. One feature is to change the Windows date to one of the internal dates in the EXIF metadata.

You do mean that you display your folders in Details view and you have the column headed Date modified visible in your folder view? Not just the column Date?

Windows has never intended to allow you to list the files in order of date added to the subfolder
