Windows 10 - How to customize the search field.

    Hello people.

My first post, so I'm sorry if you make any gaffes, ok?

Well, I have a very large video collection.

I want to classify them by total video time, or length, as it is in Windows.

It turns out that the options that Windows offers is not satisfactory.

I ask, how do I select videos up to 10 minutes long?

There is a picture, if you look closely, you will see in the upper right corner, the search field, which I am saying.

Who can help me, I may thanks in advance.

    Thank you.

Hi, don't believe it's possible with that search field (for which syntax is incompletely documented).

    However you could do this:
Windows 10 - How to customize the search field.-1.jpg
    and organise them by length.

There may be a 3rd party tool that can help..

Oddly, by comparison with the length parameter, duration allows
    kind:video duration:00:10:00-00:40:00
as a random attempt. The problem is the duration column in file explorer is empty.

Mediainfo (free) offers an extension sheet and command line options:
Windows: Get duration of video file from command line? - Super User
Just found out about this tool on my own :). For the reference, here's the command line that outputs duration in millisesconds: MediaInfo.exe --Output=Video;%Duration% file.avi BTW Running MediaInfo.exe --info-parameters to see what it can output is a bit overwhelming :)

Thank you very much for your attention and help Dalchina.

Yes, this method I already knew.

It works great if the amount is small.

I use this methodology in my torrents folder.

I'm not very comfortable, however, using this tactic when you have about three screens, for example.

But I appreciate your help anyway.

I also imagined that it wasn't possible.

But it doesn't hurt to ask, does it?

    Thank you!

NOTE: Thanks for the extra software!! I liked it!!

You're welcome. There are a few of that ilk.

    Please try this syntax:
if you wanted videos in a certain range like from 60s to 120s you would do
    kind:=video length:600000000..1200000000
and post back the result. Not tried it myself (no videos on this PC)

Open File Explorer. Open the top level of the folder. In the search filed enter kind:video length: and you'll get the same display you showed in your example.

I opened C: then entered the above and got this:

Pick from the drop down box the length your interested in.

@Ztruker - the OP is aware of that- see the first screenshot. What is sought is more precise resolution than offered there.

    Hopefully my post #4

Ultrasearch, from JAM software. The free version is very functional, and VERY FAST.

@x509 - ok, does it specifically solve the problem as stated in post #1?

Hi, can you demonstrate that actually works with a folder containing video files? I tried that, and the format doesn't fit, and it didn't work.

Note too that the 00:10:00 is not highlighted.

Whereas the numbers in the example I quoted above are.
