    File explorer problem

Hello forum, i am new to this site so nice to meet you all.

Since my installation of windows 10, i had some problems with the file explorer option.

When you click on 'start' and you see file explorer and decide to click on that, i expected it would be something like my documents etc. But what happens to me is that explorer self seems to restart completely. Turning off or not showing the windows taskbar and at the same time the background. While other programs work in that short time.

After searching some answers that i could't find, i decide to come here for help.

So if any of my fellow windows 10 users has the same problem or found a answer to this problem it would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there.

You could try searching Event Viewer to see if there are any related errors.

    Option 1

Right click on the start icon
    Choose Event Viewer
Click on the little arrow by Custom Views
    Click on Administrative Events

Go through them until you find any related to file explorer.

    Option 2

    Open new Settings App
Type in File Explorer in the search bar
    Click on File Explorer options
    A dialog box appears
In the drop down box at the top, select This PC
    In Privacy untick both boxes

This may help prevent crashes, its quite possible that file explorer is having trouble with recent files its trying to show.

    Try to run: sfc /scannow

SFC Command - Run in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Run this as admin, it should at least prevent Desktop from restarting for the time being.
