    Re: help with a project

My room mate's son or one of his friends keeps coming into my room and taking things. I grant my room mate 1 thing. He thinks I sometimes misplace things. But not always. What I need to do is get some kind of digital USB camera with night vision and regular vision. And capture the son in the act in a photo. That's the only proof that his dad will except. I need the camera to have a proximity detection. I have never setup this kind of a deal before and I could use some help please. OOOO it has to be a price that won't break the bank. I live on SSDI disability.

This might fit the bill, it is pretty inexpensive, you can use it via wifi with 14 days free storage or put an sd card in it to keep it local.

We live in an apt. I don't think that management will let me put a lock on my door. I will look into that item from Amazon.

$11. Keep the old door knob. What's the apartment manager going to do? Come inside your apartment and inspect doorknobs?

You can also put a pad lock on the door. It will only be a few screw holes on the door and frame. If the landlord doesn't like it, say you need it for security.
Your roommate would probably deny it, even if you showed him a video of someone walking into your room.

My room mate would believe it if I showed him a video or a still photo of his son messing around in my room. I suspect his son because there is only the 3 of us living here. And I have known my room mate for going on 30 years. We served in the AirForce Reserve together. I won't get into the what and how's here. But there are things that his son had done in the past that makes him a suspect. There just is no solid proof to backup my claim. Also the Spectrum DVR in my room has been randomly recording tv prog's and movies that I don't watch or know. There is 3 DVR's here and the remotes are interchangeable between DVR's. Again no proof without video or a photo capture.
