Lock screen showing up with PC going to sleep

    hello,

Since one of the latest updates, when i click the power button for sending the PC to sleep, the lock screen flashes for an instant then goes into sleep. it has never done like that say 6 months ago.

With the most recent update that i have installed today, and i am now on 18362.267 it seems worse, the lock screen comes back for like half second and then goes to standby.
any ideas? also the startup menu when there is hybernation enabled, looks weird as if there's one more line.

my pc is an ASUS VivoBook S15 S510UQ or at least give me some help, updating drivers or such.

    please fix this.

    thanks,
    Gabrio

There is no upvoting on this website. If you are having insider edition issues, keep reporting them through the proper feedback channels. With Black Screens, it is always going to come down to a GPU driver issue. In sleep mode, that is because the monitor is not getting the proper wakeup state IRQ from CPU to APU to GPU to bios (Not necessarily in that order).

    Greetings Gabrio,

Let's process of elimination, shall we?

Do you know how to run an SFC /scannow?

    This is how --

YouTube (This guy talks WAY too much. Just do the scan and shut him up.)

If it comes up with 'no integrity violations' tell us. If a paragraph spits out about 'corrupt files' and CBS logs come back here.

P.S. the Asus Vivo 15 may have nothing to do with anything, but nice choice

P.P.S why Windows doesn't make this an installed app that runs with one click of a button is beyond the pale... as well as offering a stage two button which is DISM Scan Health in disguise.

    Hello gabgab,

My system also does that. In the past, when I put the pc to sleep, the screen goes black and the pc goes to sleep. Since last month's patch Tuesday, now when I put the pc to sleep, the screen goes blue, then black and then the lock screen comes up before finally going to sleep. Don't know why, but I just live with it.

    hi

I just did and it found some corrupt files and he created CBS.log btw does it matter if I run on Cmd (admin)? does it have to be from PowerShell?

I believe CMD or Powershell is the same in this instance.

Now you need to run this --

Lock screen showing up with PC going to sleep-2019-07-30-11_53_29-how-use-dism-command-tool-repair-windows-10-image-_-windows-central.jpg

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Do it twice no matter what it says.

Then do the sfc /scannow again and see if the error is gone

THEN reboot and then see if your issue is gone

If not, you may need to repeat these instructions one more time. So another two DISMs, a reboot, and another SFC.

The way I remember SFC is 'Science Fiction Cat /scannow' lol

Lock screen showing up with PC going to sleep-image.png

then I did the sfc and I had

Lock screen showing up with PC going to sleep-image.png

so it still found errors. I am restarting now...
