    weird problem involving corrupted files. please help, i'm stumped.

    i have two main pc's. one is a z370 build and the other is a z97 build. both have a dual boot 7/10 os(10 is the 1809 build on both). i can run sfc/scannow on both 7 and 10 on my z370 and no integrity violations are found. on the z97 build if i run sfc/scannow on 7 it's fine but 10 shows corruption. i tried a fresh install of 10, sfc/scannow, and everything is fine. then i install all updates and do another scan and i have corrupted files. did another install. same exact thing happened. tried 3 different drives(1 ssd, 1hdd, 1 brand new sandisk ssd), installed 10 on each and the same exact thing happens. i went into the bios and loaded optimized defualts, installed 10 fresh again, same exact thing still happens. ran memtest86 for about an hour and found no errors. i currently have memtest64 running for over an hour and no errors. what the heck is wrong with this thing? i'm a little stumped.

    Some corrupted files occur in some builds.
    Try this link: System File Checker errors reported...

    You have not said what problems SFC found.

    Many of us found the problem ocurring when WD updated its platform
    [see WD, Settings {in the bottom-left corner}, About - Antimalware client version]
    from
    4.18.1905.4
    to
    4.18.1906.3
    [and some Insiders, users of preliminary updates, have said that it happened again after a further update}

    Since the only effect seems to be the SFC error it is possible to just ignore the problem and wait for MS to fix it.

    When the problem appears, the irreparables list entries all contain, "Windows-Defender-Management-Powershell" and attribute the problem to a "hash mismatch".

    If you are doing this in both OSís on the machine, yes one can corrupt the other. You are best to run 7 in a VM at this point. Also saving files between the two different OS partitions can corrupt data.
