Clean boot disables startup programs and third-party services it will not cause power problem.

Driver Corruption or Errors. Similar to overheating, hardware failure can cause a system freeze.

    Update device drivers.

    Install Windows updates.

    Install latest version of programs.
I completely get what you are saying. Hardware is out of the picture, because I have no issues on 1809. Computer works fine on 1809. Windows updates are not the issue either, since the 1903 is all up to date. Drivers could be a possibility and I use Driver Easy to update drivers.

Will test a clean install of 1903 on a separate partition and see how it goes overnight.

You should not use Driver Easy or any other driver updater they can install buggy driver which can cause your issue.

Do you have RDP enabled? I had the same issue and my machine was being attacked and eventually locking up. Changing the RDP port solved this.

I have it set to "on" in all my computers and I am not having the issue. Just one computer has the issue.

Does your Reliability History give any indication of a problem? Using Display Driver Uninstaller [DDU] is a better option and use it in Safe Mode only.

You can create new extra free partition to clean install Windows 10 1903 version to test clean install causing the problem.

Also upgrade your computer BIOS firmware.
Tried a fresh install of 1903 on a new partition. I did not install any programs, installed Windows updates and left PC on overnight. In the morning, PC had power light on, fans running but would not display anything on TV... No video. I had disabled sleep mode and also disabled hibernate. Only screen off after 10 min. The only way was to reboot PC by pressing the power button. This doesn't happen on Windows 1809.

Visit your graphic card manufacturer website to install latest version of graphic card driver. Also check Event Viewer to see if cause of the issue is logged.

Ran sfc scannow in the fresh install of 1903 and it fixed some issues. I can't believe there were issue in a fresh install with no programs added. Ran another one after I rebooted and all came out fine. Will leave PC overnight and see if it locks up tomorrow.

I used the windows media creation tool 1903 and created a USB flash drive to install. forgot to leave that partition of 1903 on last night. Will try during the day and see if it locks up.
