    Underwhelmed by 1903 (and 1809 and ...)

I've installed 1903 on this system and read the post in Windows News about what's new with this release.

I'd categorise most of that as bling. Come on MS lets have some REAL functional enhancements - I mean really do I care if the login screen background is blurred when I enter my password - hint: NO!

Similar comments apply to the last several releases.

Has Windows development been taken over by millenials with no vision beyond "gosh that looks pretty".

I'm on the fence as I look primarily at the technical stuff.. but from a user experience what would WOW you?

Its the technical stuff I want to see/hear/know about - I'm really not interested in most of the bling/user experience stuff!

I was hoping for more insight than "flying ****" - but so be it.

My apologies, I have revised my earlier post to use more moderate language. Please attribute to insufficient coffee this morning.

In response to what would be a welcome UI enhancement: Proper multiple desktop support with different icons on each dekstop. A bit like what old CDE used to provide.

I tried dexpot, but the way that windows has multiple folders that go into making the displayed desktop means that this was less than ideal.

I don't know why this has to be an either/or proposition. If they're fixing bugs and underpinnings and what not, wonderful.

I actually want BLING. But not in painful incremental steps. I want DESIGNERS to create a MOD MODE for Windows. One specifically designed to please former Mac users (Hi) and inspire more to switch.

I know, I know. Lifelong PC users cringe. But that's why I said 'mode'. I know Linux distros that ship with six flavors built into them. You flip a swith and then all of a sudden your PC looks kinda... different.

I'm only asking for ONE from Windows, that is OS wide.
