    Shutdown

    Hi Guys

Over the last few months, when I switch on my computer in the morning 9 times out of 10 it shuts itself down twice within the first 15 minutes of turning it on. All then is okay until the following day.

Occasionally very occasionally I either have no problem or it shuts itself down in the middle of the day but this is once in a blue moon.

I have looked and asked every conceivable issue through a virus, malware, and programs logs but nobody seems to be able to sort the problem. Can you guys help me?

    Regards

Welcome to the forum. You need to give us details of your system is CPU fan motherboard. First guess would be the CPU is getting to hot so keep an eye on temp see if that's the problem. As it shuts down a lot this often gives disk errors so do a full disk test

    Download a hardware monitor.
    open_hardware_monitor
Create C:\Program Files (x86)\HardwareMonitor folder and extract to it.
Run openhardwaremonitor.exe. On the Options menu set to Run on Windows startup, start minimized, minimize to tray and minimize on close.
You can configure what to show on in try and on the gadget.

This might be the issue. I had this happen to me due to the fan. I replaced the fan and everything was working fine. See if you can hear the fan turning on at startup.

Does it shut down in an organised way or does it just instantly go off?
The fact that you say it happens more often when cold makes me wonder if your motherboard is failing. This can happen so that the PC is difficult to turn on or switches off while the PC is cold. Once the PC has warmed up then everything is fine. The problem with this is that it is marked by a slow deterioration of the problem and eventually it will refuse to turn on at all.

    Hi Samuria

No it does not shut down a lot. Only twice when I first start up as explained above. In the morning when first switched on the rest of the time while its on its fine. So not sure getting hot is the answer is it?

Yes, it shuts down in an organised way I would say. How can we tell if the MB is failing? Can we be sure it is the MB? Do we just wait for it to fail? How is the deterioration? This has been consistently unstable like this for months now, not getting any better or worse?

When you double click on the tray or on the gadget it opens a window with all sensors. For each one you have 3 columns: Current value, min and Max.
It isn't a log, it is the values since it started. After start up see if there is any temp above 80ºC.

    Hi Megahertz

No. under temps min is average 20C under all 4 cores and max is 50C on all 4 cres but value is 21c currently. GPU core temp is 27C value max 29C
