Windows 10 1903 Search Box Cannot Access Web Search.

Is web search in Win 10 Search Box permanently disabled? I have the 1903 version and the Search Box cannot do web search no matter what i do. Does anyone have the same issue? By the way, there isn't an "Enable" or "Disable" option for Web search under Search or Cortana.

Hello alariclau, and welcome to Ten Forums.

What build of Windows 10 are you currently running?

    Find Windows 10 Build Number

Do you see a Web option available at the top in search? If you have build 18317 or higher, then you can check using the tutorial below to see if you have web search results enabled.

Turn On or Off Search online and include web results in Windows 10

I am using Build 18362.207 (version 1903) and i had tried the enable registry operation, and the entire process seemed to be successful except that it didn't do anything to add the web option in Search. Also I found using Regedit that those 2 registries mentioned do not exist after I executed the "Turn_On..." file.

Do I need to run the executable in Admin mode?

Ok, I just read the instructions carefully and the Turn_On....reg is supposed to delete the 2 registries, which it did. But still no change to the web Search feature. It still doesn't search the web.

    Thank you for your help!

In that case, a repair install should be able to fix it without losing anything.

Sorry, i repaired as described in your link, the process was successful but it has done nothing to the adding the online web search. i ran the 'turn_on' script after the process again.

I was told that online search is not a feature in 1903 version onward, are you sure your script works or that my build of this version already prevents the script from working? Thank you!

If you have the latest build of version 1903 installed, you should see a Web option available in Search by default.

Do you remember doing anything else in an attempt to disable Bing or Search?

Let's see some screenshots show what you're seeing to see if anything may stand out.

    Hi,
Like many changes a restart or shut down and restart might be needed for changes to apply.

I have 2 drives with 2 windows on my laptop. I think that might have caused the problem. I ran turn script on both windows (one actual doesn't need to run) and I momentarily saw the web search after restart. But it disappeared after I left the search box and went back in again. I might have to reset both windows. Thanks.
