I bought a Chromecast and plugged it into my television and can see Chromecast and the number behind it. Now I go to the Chrome Web Store and I do not see anywhere the chromecast icon. This is very frustrating because in the past I had no problems setting up chromecast on my previous televisions and computers and phones.
But the icon no longer shows up anywhere in the toolbar.
In Chrome, Select the Menu (3 dots) then Cast and the icon will appear. Or right click in the page and select Cast.
A new problem is that while i see the icon, this laptop does not see my television. It sees or recognizes a television in the den.
I do not think poor wifi is the problem as I have Roku and it works fine via wifi. The first time I tried to set up the Chromecast the setup link sent me to Chrome and Google home but then nothing happened. I never completed the setup on the Chromecast, because after I went to the link, I did not know what to do then as all I found was to download Home.
