Looking to get WIN 10 OS

As this is my first post, and I believe I interpreted the forum rules correctly, please advise if I posted outside the rules.

I have read several articles on WIN 10 HOME vs WIN 10 PRO. I still cannot tell which is better for my needs. I do not need BitLocker device encryption. I do not need Windows Information Protection (WIP). This would be a personal computer, not for work. The only thing special is that will need to run at least two 32 bit apps. WIN Office 2003 Pro, and VB6.

    Any suggestions!
    Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Home should be fine for 99% of people how much ram is in the pc as that sets if you want 32 or 64 bit windows 32 bit apps run on a 64 bit ok

So, I believe I should get 64 bit (32 bit will run if they load). Also, I think 8 Gig of ram should be the minimum. I have 8 Gig on my WIN 7 Pro, and am told that WIN 10 is more hungry than WIN 7.

8 gigs will for most things depending on whether your use is for Gaming or heavy use programs.
I'm using 8 gigs on my second machine , running photoshop, Indesign and illustrator ( memory hogs)
all running at the same time with no problems running Win 10 pro.
8 gigs is recommended not minnimum. Some of my machines run on 4 and 6 gigs with no problem at all.

8GB should be absolute minimum (so you definitely need to run 64 bit Operating System). You can struggle by on less but what is the point?

Windows 10 is (in my experience) less memory hungry than Windows 7 but most of it is Web browsers anyway so there is not much of a difference.

Any 64 bit version of Windows will run 32 bit apps and indeed until recently MS advised running 32 bit Office.

You don't need to buy a Win 10 license if you want to "upgrade" from Win 7 or Win 8.x, and if you have a retail Win 7 or Win 8.x license you can transfer to a new computer.
Except for gaming or images manipulation (like photoshop) you will never need more than 8G of memory.
And Win 10 Home is all you need.
