How to Make Your Windows 10 Taskbar Clock Show Seconds

I completed this small change and it works perfect. Did not take more than a couple of minutes.
I find seconds extremely useful for certain time-check tasks and generally useful to have.
A minute is a long time in the computer world.

Follow the clear and easy instructions given pictorially in the link below and its done.
You have to restart your PC afterwards to show the seconds.

I had to use the 32-bit choice specified, regardless of my PC being a 64-bit set when selecting the new DWORD value.

    Follow this link exactly -

The image shown is my taskbar showing seconds -

It didn't work for me. I tried to unblock it but there was no offering to do that (which means the file is not blocked). It flickered for a fraction of a second so I assumed it did not work. So I tried the other way, by simply opening the .bat file but it flickered and again disappeared.

HANG ON! Seconds now appear on the taskbar. Also, the time it shows is exactly UTC time, which I use. No need to restart.

    Many thanks.

That is one of my favourite TenForums tutorials, such a little change but so satisfying.

Only took a couple of minutes and it worked immediately.

It takes readers away from Ten Forums when there is a Ten Forums tutorial published about nine months before the article you linked to that does exactly the same thing in exactly the same way.

Thanks Bree, but I find my link infinitely more easy to follow than the tutorial.
No downloading files and fiddling with them.

You find it easier to go into regedit and make a registry change than to download a small batch file and run it?
