    Task Scheduler depreciated features

I just discovered that I can no longer set Task Scheduler to display a message. Is there any way to add this feature back in to Windows 10? I've always depended on to remind me when to pay bills, birthdays, reordering, etc. Thank you!

Meisha, how did you do it before in Task Scheduler? What doesn't work now?

There are lots of free Calendar programs around that can do this for you. There is a built in Calendar app in Windows 10 that can do this too.

Thank you for your reply, Rich. Previously, I used Windows 7 and that feature still worked. I didn't know the calendar app could pop up a message. Thank you for that tip, I'll look into it. Do you know if the calendar app has to be running in order to pop up a message, or can it be set to activate only on the day you schedule the task for?

Awesome! Thanks, bro67! I wonder why Microsoft would depreciate a simple feature like displaying message. I doubt it was getting in the way of any other programming or it was already in place. I wonder what they're reasoning was. Oh well... I'll check out this article now. Thanks again!

Because Outlook and other CRM’s are more widely used.

True, plus they might want to encourage using Cortana more. Can Outlook be programmed to display pop-up messages on a certain date, too?

Actually Cortana is going away for Alexa to take its place. That was a huge reason why they split it off of search. Outlook will give uou a pop-up for events and reminders.

I see, I didn't realize Alexa would take the place of Cortana. Thanks for the info, bro67, I'll look into Outlook, then :)
