wifi and battery indicator keep being removed from bar

Several times they have disappeared and been turned off as in they dont show up.
    WHY ?
And I forgot how to make the indicators be visible on the task bar.
    How to do it again?

Right-click on the taskbar, select "Taskbar settings", go down to "Notification area", and choose "Select which icons appear on the taskbar".

Thanks got it back again. But why dont they stay on? I dont go into the setting and turn them off. And couple times, 'people' has just turned itself on too.

Today I was using the laptop pc, and it was there , then my finger drew the side notification bar over to the left, and when I went to move it out of the way, both the speaker and wifi icons and battery had disappeared AGAIN.

Why is it turning them off?
    Can it be locked?

This is an ASUS 2 in 1, so it can become a tablet. But I almost never flip it over. When the icons disappeared again, I was just in laptop mode using the keyboard.
