    Hey everyone.....

I have been thinking today about how great it would be to colour categorise hard drives in Windows....maybe one day this will be a feature in Windows 10. Here's a mock up.

This would be useful to quickly see the Work drives, Back up drives, Dual OS drives and USB drives, what do you think?

I like it and it would be nice to do this at a folder level.

I can get you partially there. You can at least easily change the icon for each drive easily enough but it would be really nice if you could change the status bar as in your mock up.

As long as they use colors that a person who is color blind can distinguish.

The colours can be user configurable so they match the users perception - They ( I assume you mean MS ) can leave this optional or as a personal configuration. My colour choice is personal to me, but thinking about it, if a PC is used by multiple users, some of which may be colour blind, then I guess there can be an option for that too...?

It is now fixed but MS once used the wrong colors in File Explorer. When looking at the properties of a drive the colors used for the circle graph look the same. I was very quick to report it to them.

Windows Explorer is like 10 years behind itself. There should be all sorts of customization options. I like your idea.

See my avatar? Found that one the web by accident. I think it's a way better logo than MS is currently using.
