Media Keys Opens Windows Media Player

Whenever I hit the volume, keys on my keyboard, it automatically opens Windows Media Player instead of controlling the volume. The only thing I done prior to that was did a full scan on 'Advanced SystemCare 12.4 Pro'. I'm thinking it might've changed a setting to get it to do that. I can't find the option to revert it.

It happens regardless, if I'm in any program or not, even on my desktop.

There isn't anything in the link to fix it. I tried going to the BIOS, to see if there was an option there, but there wasn't.

Go to the Toolbox then Rescue registry.

You might also like to read these iobit threads on the subject but many are quite dated and refer to the old UI layout

Do consider whether or not ASC is actually giving you any benefit in return for the risk of it messing up your Registry. Many people regard such Registry cleaners as no better than snake oil - overhyped, conveying no benefits & potentially lethal.

If you cannot fix the problem then study Recovery options in Windows 10 - Windows Help

For ready-made computers, multi-media keys are controlled by a utility installed by the computer maker and not by Windows.
    - The computer manual, computer maker's website or computer model user forum would probably tell you which utility did this job.
    - If so, you should be able to download and reinstall that utility - I think this would be worthwhile even if undoing those ASC changes appears to have resolved the problem.
I do not know which element of a custom-built computer such as yours is involved. I suspect that it is the keyboard maker but am not at all sure.

I searched but I couldn't find rescue registry.
I also removed WMP and tried the media keys. It opened VLC. So I removed VLC and Winamp, and then after that, when I press the media keys, it asks me how do I want to open .mp3 files. Somehow, it got linked the .mp3 files.

I wonder if somehow got assigned to a certain file or .mp3 format.
If I can't figure it out by tomorrow, I'll reinstall the OS.

Update: I tried the calculator button, and it does the same thing.

This picture of the UI shows Rescue center and implies that Rescue registry is within that

Not that I am arguing against reinstalling your OS [without ASC] as a means of undoing all its mistakes.

I opened up the side menu and it is different to.

    I fixed it, somehow.
I began pressing the other hotkeys on the otherside of my keyboard (Mail, Web browser, music, etc) and when I pressed the media keys, they work. The calculator botton works too.

Fine but did you try the Rescue center section? I can see it in your posted diagram - it could be worth checking that it does lead to Rescue Registry so you are ready for any future needs [if you are going to keep using that utility].
