Having a computer sleep properly is one of the main things I want and MS screwed it up with 1903.

By disabling wake timers my computer will stay asleep IF I put it there. Because it won't do it on its own. Why? Because of Orchestrator. I hate MS.

Here are some more detailed instructions:

In the search box, type "CMD". You should see a command prompt option as in the following illustration. Right-click it and choose to run as administrator.

    Attachment 238055

Locate the folder where you saved and extracted PSEXEC. Hold down the SHIFT key and while still holding it down, right-click on that folder. Select the option "Copy as path".

    Attachment 238057

Go back to the command prompt you opened.

Type in "CD" (without the quotes) followed by a space. Right-click within that command prompt. That should paste in the path. Hit ENTER.

It should look something like this but with the path to where you saved PSEXEC.

    Attachment 238063

Now you can continue with the steps to run the psexec command, etc.
I decided to use PSTools and was able to figure it out. But why am I focusing on Backup Scan under UpdateOrchestrator?

As I posted above even if the computer sleeps it is not doing on its own because UpdateOrchestra preventing it.

As I noted before, I was looking at Backup Scan because it was the focus of another similar case. However, in your case maybe Universal Orchestrator Idle Start is more where the focus should be. I simply don't have the issues you are having, in fact, I don't even have some of the same settings you have on any of about 8 different machines I have looked at so I can only take an educated guess at where we really need to look.

Sorry I can't provide any definitive answers on this topic.

I appreciate your help because at least I used PSTools to modify the Universal Orchestrator Idle task and that seems to work to prevent the computer from waking. Problem is Universal Orchestrator is also preventing the computer from sleeping on its own.

I see enough posts about these problems that I am hoping MS will issue some fixes but who really knows. I really hate having to modify this or that to get a computer to do what it should normally.

Well not so easy it seems.

I see that even after using PCTools to allow me to change the task function to not allow the task to wake the computer, it reenabled itself. Throwing my hands up on this one.

Yeah, I'm struggling to understand what it is that is happening there. I simply can't duplicate it so I have nothing to try and troubleshoot this on.
