Kernel Power error 41 + Mouse Curser missing etc

For some weeks I have been having a problem with my mouse(?), or indeed any alternatives I have tried.

Soon after start up the mouse freezes, and the curser will not move. On other occasions, the mouse is totally absent when the computer reaches desktop - have to restart (possibly twice) to get the mouse to put in an appearance! This started well before the 1903 update. Have tried all the usual work arounds and different mice without success. The problem is intermittent.
Event viewer shows that event error 41 occurs about the time when the mouse problem/freeze becomes evident.

Having looked at this error 41 closely, I note that this is quite a common problem, and is attributed to a possible failure of the power supply. Those with the problem are reporting that an unscheduled restart takes place. I do not have this same aspect in that I just get a frozen computer - there is no attempt to restart as others have reported.

Your thoughts, comments and help would be appreciated

Well - all seems to be working without problems (at least at the moment.) The nature of my original post was a little bazaar, and I did not expect a flood of responses on this one. In fact I did not receive any.

I figured that the freeze problem was most likely to occur at startup or just after + when using Office 2013.
I routinely visited task master to find that Malwarebytes was running - despite not having called this app up. I rebooted and found that malwarebytes was running once again, and continued throughout the day. I therefore uninstalled Malwarebytes, and also ran repair on my office 2013 installation. In addition I removed the program CDBurner which I believe(?) had caused problems to others in the past.
In view of the link with error 41 and psu's, I thought that I would set my advanced power setting back to default.

As silly as it may seem - having done this as an shot in the dark, for whatever reason my PC is now back to it's old self. No disappearing mouse curser or freezing - and no mention of error 41 in event viewer. In addition, the shutdown time has improved, no long delays.
Honestly the quirks that Windows 10 throws up from time to time never cease to amaze me.
    Thanks for your time
    C
