I kinda cringed when it leaked and read that the Modern Store apps might run on the desktop and not their own, but after thinking on it awhile it really doesn't make any difference. If I auto hide the Taskbar this is what I'll have > Another bare, but colorful desktop. :)

It's going to be weird for sure to see WinRT and Win32 alongside each other like that. But, it's not there are some reg edits that make the system open all windows maximized. But still, weird. Even in 8.1, it's too weird.

I think the sizable windowing of the modern apps is a great idea and much needed. I like that, but I wonder if they needed the desktop to get that to work or are they doing it to get more users to try the Store apps?.

Anywho, we'll be able to have 4 apps open at once no matter if WinRT and/or Win32. However that's 25% of the screen each when snapped. I like the 1/3rd - 2/3rds snap. I'd like 2 apps snapped upper/lower 1/3rd on a side and another full 2/3rds.

    Window Snap

I like the enhanced desktop Window Snap. :)

I commented a couple of weeks ago about how I would like to see an improved desktop Window Snap.

    Hi there

You forgot to mention W2003 Server -- I used this as a Workstation for years --it basically was a "super enhanced" XP (or was XP a "hobbled" W2003 server !!).

How to convert your Windows Server 2003... to a Workstation!

Windows 2000 was pretty good as well -- maybe Windows 10 will be the best ever.

I HATED windows NT -- we called that "Windows Neanderthal or Windows No Thanks. !!

What about THIS one !!!! though.

    Cheers

    In order
    Windows 98SE , Windows 7, Windows Me

Can't really say anything about Windows Vista only used it once at another location.
Isn't Windows Longhorn actually Windows Vista?

Windows 7 wasn't included for a while. The thing I don't like is no support for 16 bit & dos applications. I know you can use dos box but there not a 16 bit vitalization except if you use Linux 32 bit os and wine.

Windows Longhorn was where vista came from. If you could imagine the literal best and most advanced operating system there ever was, Longhorn was it.

    Hi

I've used every version of Windows starting with Windows 3.1.

I used to have Windows 3.1 installed twice because it crashed so often that I needed a backup to log into when it went down. When it wouldn't boot I would direct it to Alt Windows installed on the same disk in the same partition and boot to that then delete the other install and reinstall it again, and again.

It was only 17 megabytes but it had to be done from a bunch of floppy disks and took forever.

If I had to say what my favorite OS was right now it would be Widows 7, but after a few day using Windows 10 I'd have to say that this may be my new favorite.

Only time will tell, but so far I like it a lot, I haven't even felt like installing Classic Shell, which I ran in Windows 7 and 8.

I'm not going to install anything like that while I'm testing 10, so I will really learn to use it, something I didn't really do with 8.
