Remove duplicate links under This PC in navigation pane

I'd like to know if it's at all possible to remove links from quick access that are duplicated under This PC once you access them from quick access.

In this scenario I opened documents in quick access and it duplicated itself under This PC. This will happen with multiple links at a time. It's very annoying and also inconsistent as in sometimes it happens and other times it doesn't.

In this image I found online, it's more pronounced.

    Thanks for the timely response.

Point is though that I use quick access because it allows you to sort links and folders in any order you want in the navigation pane. You cant do this with libraries. So I intend to keep quick access minus the annoyance of duplicating my links when i open them.

The 'folders' under Quick Access are just shortcuts. When you select one, you open the target of the shortcut, which in your case, is under This PC.
