Well, for some unknown reason the reply box on my laptop showed Title and Smilies but nowhere to write the reply!
I did change the battery, the old one read 2.45v the new one 3.2v.
I still needed to press F1 to get the Bios to load and the date showed as Dec 31 2004 time 23.23. Corrected.
I am using the Win 7 which is running oh so slow but may just need to update.
I have not plucked up the courage to flash the Bios, how risky is that job?
I had disconnected the other drives so did not do any scans on them. All I have connected at present is this Win 7 Drive and the WD Passport USB drive.
On my manual page 2-31 shows the tools required to put the PC together, when I get a chance I will try to find any reference to audible warnings, although I don't remember seeing any on my scans of the manual.
I have backed up my data on other drives, plus DropBox, One Drive and BT Cloud, so I reckon it may be time to reinstall Win 10 on a new drive. I am thinking along the lines of a 2.5" 500GB SSD drive in a 3.5" adapter.
